As the title says, just post anything unspecific about microdosing here!

Hello,

I would like to grow the truffles myself and still have some questions. Can I simply leave the harvest to dry on the windowsill after harvesting? how do I make powder and can I take it with yoghurt, for example?

Sport and truffles shouldn't really be a problem, should they?

Have a nice evening everyone

Hello Moni!

So, the best way to "grow" sclerotia ("magic truffles") is with the harvest box, growing them yourself from spores takes a lot of time - it's better to grow mushrooms, which can also be microdosed!
They are already in the harvest box, so there's no need to wait - but they can still grow a little, of course.
The harvest from the harvest box should be chopped.

The heating mat or fruit dryer from the kitchen store is ideal - but in winter, when the heating is on, you can also simply lay it out on newspaper on the table or, if the radiator is <50°C, on the radiator. Ovens are not recommended unless they have a fruit drying function and can be set to 40°C, which is unusual.

When the chopped sclerotia are completely dry, usually 1-3 days depending on the drying method, you can grind them into powder in a coffee grinder. You can also use a mortar and pestle, but it is tiring and takes a relatively long time.

It is best to only make as much powder as you need in a few days, or to store the powder in an airtight container.

As far as sports are concerned, the sclerotia micro-wounds help to heal faster and can be helpful. However, there are situations in which their ability to "soften and relax" is not desirable and then it may be better to take them after sport. You have to try it out.

Great, thank you very much for your quick reply.

How and where do I store the dried truffles and how long do they keep? And the very last question, I can simply swallow the dried truffles with water after eating, is it perhaps better to take the powder from a digestive point of view and if so, what is the best way to swallow it?.

Thank you so much for your patience.

Best regards Moni

If the sclerotia are whole when they are dried, or roughly chopped, you can store them in cloth bags or socks or in some other "airy" way. Plastic bags are not good, if moisture gets in, condenses or the sclerotia were not completely dry, they can very quickly become infested with green mold and be destroyed.

Powder in capsules and the capsule in airtight tins is best if you don't want to stir the powder into warm honey in the traditional way to make it naturally "everlasting", easy to dissolve and tasty.

The coarsely chopped dry sclerotia are sharp-edged and have corners that are not easy to swallow. You can put the powder on everything and stir it into everything

As written above: it is best to stir the powder into warm honey, then it will keep for a very long time (for years) and can be easily dosed and tastes good.

If you don't take the sclerotia from the harvest box, but dry the small sclerotia from the 15g "Loki" packet, then you can simply swallow them and don't need to powder them or chop them up before drying.

Hello,

If I have understood this correctly, then the Sclerotia from the harvest box are different from the small ones from the blisters.

Is it possible to get the small variety in breeding boxes?

And how is magic truffle honey made?

Does the powder not settle underneath?

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE

Greetings Moni

Hello Moni

The sclerotia are all biologically the same vital giant spores of the Stropharia cubensis fungus. The size depends on the growth time and the type of substrate, the color depends on the substrate and possibly food coloring. The "harvest boxes" cannot contain exactly the same substrate as the growing bags for the sclerotia, which are harvested very small.

You can chop up the large sclerotia - but they are not so easy to swallow when dried because they are sharp and pointed.

However, you can easily make powder from it with a coffee grinder and stir it into warm Holig. It tends to float to the top, but if you stir well, it spreads and if you close the honey jar when the honey is still warm, a vacuum is created as it cools and the sclerotia honey will keep for a long time.

Depending on this, you can stir up to 5g of powder into 45g of honey and then have a microdose of 0.3g of powder in 3g of sclerotia honey. For microdosing, it may make more sense to stir 5g of powder into 95g of honey and then have a microdose in 6-7g of honey...

The sclerotia must be very well dried and have no residual moisture and you should chop them up beforehand, then they dry better and are easier to pulverize.
