I have ordered 25g magic truffles and would like microdoses. I read David's instructions about drying, pulverizing and stirring into honey. I find it a bit difficult with the dosage. How do I know how much to take? If I need 0.5 to 1g of fresh truffles, how much honey should I use if I use 5g of powder for 95g of honey? Dried truffles are probably lighter than fresh ones.
And how long would the fresh truffles keep in the fridge?

When soaking mushrooms in honey, I had a powdered honey mixture of 1 part mushroom powder to 10 parts honey. I had the feeling that much more dry matter could not be easily accommodated in the honey.

I would dry the truffles first, and then weigh and crush them to be able to better estimate how potent the honey will be in the end.

As I want to microdose for a long time and don't want to stir it into honey, I ordered a vacuum set today. These are jars with lids that are vacuum-sealed when closed. This should protect the dried mushrooms well. I'm curious...

interesting. now that i'm also trying out how it works to grow mushrooms from liquid mycelium, and later maybe even from spores, the idea of microdosing the annual dose in one go quickly comes to mind, as it's quite a fiddle & controlling the mycelium in the long run - and the equipment is then free to try out other mushrooms too. Hedgehog spiny beard etc.

So feel free to write about your experiences with the vacuum things - don't you like honey?
