Are there any values for the Cubensis that have proven to be optimal?

I read different information on the net about the pH value of the water, for example.

This fungus is extremely easy to grow, meaning that it grows under very different conditions and on very different substrates. This means that there should be an extremely large number of combinations and a pH value for every substrate and every temperature range that is optimal for it. The question is, what do you want to optimize? Time, yield? Within what framework?

The yield always varies, even if you use exactly the same substrate and the same nutrient solution in the same room, the result is not the same.

You always optimize your options in Beuz, but my experience is: what is easiest is best.

Here the normal tap water should have a pH value of 7.5 - 8, for mushrooms in general a value of 5-6 is given I read.

I read in a mushroom growing guide that distilled water should be used. Is this tip about the sterility of the water, the pH value or other qualities?

Spotan to your question about what should be optimized, the first thing that came to my mind was: "of course optimize for as little work as possible" 🙂

But somehow I also want the mushrooms to feel as comfortable as they can at home.

I would also like to grow other mushrooms in the future once I have put together my stil air box here. There are a number of vital mushrooms that have piqued my interest.

NO POISON in the water. Tap water is sometimes chlorinated, distilled water is pure. Still drinking water from a bottle is just as good.

Optimization is effort, unless production is optimized. You have as little work as possible if you do as little unnecessary optimization as possible.

I am currently living out a certain learning and playing instinct. I have organized a few test strips here to measure PH values. The tap water, which is supposed to be of the very best drinking quality here, shows 7.2. I water one box with it (I even boiled it beforehand). I'll try to get the water for the other box to 5 or 6 and then we'll see what happens. I have citric acid or ascorbic acid here - and now I'm probably thinking about which is better for quite a while.

The king oyster mushroom is said to be a delicious edible mushroom, and the hedgehog's mane is also very interesting. If I'm already making a Stil-Air box anyway, all kinds of mushrooms will work with it. I started microdosing almost exactly a month ago. I've started using my unicycle again more often as a means of transportation, which has been standing in the corner for 3 years (I don't like jogging) and I regularly go to my allotment garden, which I've had for a year - and haven't used at all so far, at least for the last few hours of the evening (bought a wheelbarrow for it today).
