Why?

Because truffles have a tax class and can be officially bred and sold just like cacti and cats. In 2019, magic truffles were officially elevated to the status of „stimulant“ in the Netherlands, similar to tobacco or schnapps. This means they are part of the EU single market and can be bought by every European. Stores are even making punishable, if they refuse delivery to customers within the EU. This is called geo-discrimination.
